BUILDING NEWS: Renovation Update January 2015 - Working through Winter and yes, COOKIES!
10 Horse Project Manager, Justin Barros' mother is at again! This very special 10 Horse Angel has been a long-time supporter of our project, and we were so thrilled to receive these absolutely stunning works of (delectable and delicious!) art!
Marcella Lawrence clearly took a page (no pun intended) from 10 Horse Founder Robert Sabuda's love of everything pop-up. These incredible holiday cookies are each actually built in 3-dimensions and literally leap of the page!
Who needs Martha Stewart when we've got our very own master baker right here at 10 Horse?! Of course we told ourselves these masterpieces were just too beautiful to eat, but clearly that didn't happen (and we have the crumb filled counter to prove it)!
For those of you who live in New England, or even upstate New York, you know we've had a few VERY cold days of late (-15 degrees Fahrenheit!). Project Manager Justin shot the above selfie where it looks like he's ready to go skiing instead of work on construction! At right, the walls of the gallery space going up according to plan and all the walls of studios have been built.
The south side of the building is ready for it's close-up with all window openings ready for glass placement. We don't think the horses who originally lived in the building could ever have imagined there would be so much light! And we know if it's one thing artists love, it's windows!
And WOW we were thrilled to see the Group Class and Saddle Store spaces being framed up on the east side of 10 Horse! This area has a HUGE vaulted ceiling and will let in lots of light for eager students and shoppers of all our artist's work. We couldn't be more thrilled with the progress (except those few freezing mornings!) Stay turned for more updates and thanks again for all your support!
