10 Horse Art Center is located 90 minutes north of New York City in the historic Hudson Valley, nestled between the town of New Paltz and the Hudson River, just off of Exit 18 on the NY Thruway (Interstate 87). We're at 67 Black Creek Road, Highland, NY 12528 and the best way to find us is to simply Google Map "10 Horse Art Center" and we come right up.
The historic town of New Paltz , founded 1678, is just 10 minutes from 10 Horse Art Center. New Paltz has a large community of artists, the oldest street in the United States with all of it's original houses still on it (Historic Huguenot Street) and is home to the State University of New Paltz.
FOUNDER: Robert Sabuda
10 Horse Art Center was founded by #1 New York Times best-selling children’s book creator Robert Sabuda. He is a graduate of Pratt Institute in New York City and was recently named by Pratt as one of the 100 greatest graduates in the university's history. As an associate professor there, he started a program in Paper Engineering that continues to encourage the next generation of paper artists.
He is a two-time recipient of the New York Times Best Illustrated Book Award and has over five million books in print which have been translated into over 25 languages worldwide.
Robert appears regularly on the U.S. television programs The Today Show, Good Morning America and Martha Stewart where he shares his enthusiasm for creativity, children’s book art and literature. Learn more about him and his work at www.robertsabuda.com.
