BUILDING NEWS: Renovation Update December 2014 - Window and doors and a special Thank You!
Finally the doors and windows at 10 Horse are being framed in! It's so thrilling to walk through a doorway (even without a door there yet) and think "I'm walking into the new Pottery Studio!" I guess this is what it means to have "a vision" and we envision pottery!
The original horse stables only had small windows at the top of each stall (maybe the original builders didn't want the horses to see what was going on outside?), but that certainly won't work for our artists. In the pictures above all the walls are reinforced to hold the framing for the new windows.
Interior walls are also being framed out and the old outside porch on the North side of the building is being closed in to provide extra exhibition space.
The North side, on the second floor, shows off it's new window framing and, at the right, hooray for shingles! We're closing up the outside of 10 Horse as quick as we can before winter blows in.
And on a personal note, Robert wanted to give a shout-out to everyone at The Today Show for their continued support for his art and books (especially his pop-up books). Every time a book appears on television, someone in the world thinks "I want to read that!" What more could we ask for this holiday season? Thanks Hoda and Kathie Lee!
